EMILY BELL, FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

As a 20 year veteran of the wine industry, Emily has worked at the wholesale and producer levels, in both control states and free markets. Her passion for wine and gastronomy was learned in her Italian American grandparents’ kitchen and garden, and was the genesis of her education at the School of Hotel/Restaurant Management at Penn State and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone’s Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies.  She subsequently lived and worked in Napa Valley for five years, where she integrated her understanding of viticulture, winemaking, and terroir, concurrently serving as tasting panel columnist for the St. Helena Star and contributing to national wine publications. Emily is a Certified Specialist of Wine as designated by the Society of Wine Educators, and has studied with the Court of Master Sommeliers. Prior to her tenure in the wine business, she worked in operations and sales and marketing for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She is a past president of Slow Food Philadelphia, and does volunteer work in community forestry and as an election worker. Emily served on the board of the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Association for the 2023 calendar year.

ANGELA BELL, DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS AND COMPLIANCE

Angela joined Emily at Pip in 2018 after a career in marketing and management consulting that included more than twenty years at the vice president level. Wine is a natural extension of her longtime avocations of cooking and culinary literature. Angela holds a BS from the Pennsylvania State University and has done graduate coursework in liberal arts. She is a lifestyle blogger in her spare time and enjoys travel, gardening, and dogs.
